Drying

Drying for 20-30 minutes at room temperature, 30-40 seconds through forced tunnel drying with a good air ventilation at 50°C. The drying of the inks happens by evaporation of the presence of water. The drying time will vary according different printing parameters such as film thickness, air ventilation or the different diluents/retarders hat are used. To ensure a good drying and to prevent blocking of the substrates after printing, ensure that there is a good air ventilation system in the tunnel and that the temperature of the drying is not too high.

Product resistance

Sebaplast shows an overall good product resistance. In order to further increase the resistance the ink can be combined with 2-3 % “Crosslinker 105”. Printing tests should be done before. Final adhesion can be tested after the ink has been fully dried and was allowed to cool down, earliest 12-24 hours after printing.

Our effect inks

Our Effect-Colour Discharge

Large prints on dark textiles with an absolutely soft handle…

High opaque and brilliant results with only one print…Sounds fantastic, doesn’t it?

With our “Discharge” exactly this is possible…

The Discharge printing paste is a special colour that works differently from your normal printing paste. Usually the image is created by the application of the colour to the fibre, wherein this case it is created through colour removal. The two components of the Discharge printing paste are the base and the activator which removes the colour pigments from the printing-material. What you will see in the result is the original colour of the crude fiber. Meaning, the colour etches the print. If more colour is what you are looking for…

Our pre-pigmented versions of the Discharge printing paste are not only able to etch, but dye the fiber too. As a result, you have a vintage style effect to your work as the appearance has a softened feel on the surface.

Printing preparation

The Discharge ink should always be combined with the activator

The amount depends on the discharge ability of the garment colour. Not all dyes, used for colouring garments, are destructible with the activator (for more information consult your garment supplier).

Dispensing

Discharge Base: 100 g + Discharge activator: 6-8 g

Crosslinker 105 can improve wash resistance while printing hues, the transparent base does not need any Crosslinker 105

Drying and etching process

The colour is drying under normal room temperature conditions and is stackable after a short time. The etching process only works on heat supply. When using a continuous dryer, the fixing will take 3-4 min under 180°.Successful results can also be achieved when using an ironing press or a usual iron.

All about printing

My decoater is not working

My de- coater is not working....

Even though I extended the exposure time, there does not happen anything at all…

In this case, usually the too long exposure time caused your problems… “let it work well ”, does not mean the longer the better.  Never allow your de-coater to dry out on the copy layer. If you leave the de-coater on the screen too long, it will start to dry .In this moment there will happen a chemical reaction, which effects that your de-coater cures completely and the only solution is stringing your screen completely new then…

Our recommendation

Put enough de- coating emulsion on your screen, a usual kitchen sponge works well for it…brush it on both sides, don’t be thrifty, the thinner the film, the faster it starts drying on your screen. After a short exposure time you can see how the de-coater reacts. Depending on the solids content of the copy layer you can see the reaction in form of getting greasy or removing of the copy layer. This is the time for rinsing the copy layer with water, we recommend a high-pressure cleaner.

Keep in shape with screen-printing!

It depends on the proper technique…

Tensed up neck? Aching fingers? Muscle ache in the belly? Screen printing is not only funny, it can also be very strenuous…For sure, it is a question of habituation first…but having pain while printing is not necessary at all…

Note a few thing and the fun factor will prevail then...

  • The height of your printing table: you should stand up straight as possible
  • Do not cramp your shoulders
  • Do not cramp your fingers
  • Don’t forget to breathe

If you pay attention to this these little tips you won’t go to the gym that often ;-)
